To express Japanese Kawaii, using flat drawing technics and character
Kawaii is a key part of Japanese aesthetics, but it doesn’t just mean “cute.” It also expresses deep feelings—like joy, playfulness, and nostalgia—that connect to the viewer’s emotions.
In this work, I explored the emotional side of Kawaii by showing a girl on a journey, following her heart through different types of clouds. The clouds represent emotional shifts, from calm to chaos, softness to intensity—mirroring the quiet and energetic sides of Kawaii.
To create this piece, I used AI prompts inspired by Japanese Superflat art and contemporary abstract techniques. The result is a visual story that blends innocence with emotional depth, and stillness with movement.
